Hybrid Car Payback Calculator app for iPhone and iPad

This App takes the difference in price between a Hybrid Car and a Non-Hybrid Car and compares it to the savings in fuel costs provided by the Hybrid Car over a Non-Hybrid. These fuel costs are based on the current price of fuel and the expected distance the user plans to travel per year. The great thing about this application is that you get to enter all the values and can select a particular value to change and see how that would impact the Payback period of the Hybrid Car. In a quick moment you can get a snapshot of different scenarios. For example, clear the fuel field and enter a different price to see how that would change the Payback period.


The Application is very easy to use. Here are some basic instructions.
- The refresh arrow on the upper right clears all the fields at once.
- Tap on "Calculate Payback" to see your Payback period.
- To Clear a particular field, tap on the field and then on the small x that appears to the right of the field.
- Tap on "km" to switch to the Canadian/Metric Version. Tap on "mpg" to switch back to the US Version.
- Tap on the Flag to get the official fuel economy ratings from the government.
- Tap anywhere on the screen or on "Calculate Payback" to drop the keypad from view.
- For a fair comparison enter comparable values for both cars, such as city to city instead of entering the City mileage for one car and then the highway mileage for the other car.
